Outreach Club, so far this year, has proudly undertaken 2 major initiatives. The first being the monthly trash collection initiative where students meet on a Saturday morning and collect rubbish that has been disposed of on uninhabited lands in and around the city. The second initiative is the monthly trip to the Malaika Down’s Syndrome Centre. Students plan and deliver fun arts & craft or sports related lessons to the students at the day centre.
We have created a new monthly activity that we are very excited about – the Go Green Club. The aim of this club is to plant small trees and plants around the city. The first planting session will take place at school on Saturday 1oth March from 1 – 4 PM. Students will be given a list of plants and trees that they can purchase and the club’s presidents will go and purchase them on their behalf ready for the planting session.
Students interested in any of the activities run by Outreach can come and speak to any of the club’s presidents, Ms. Al-Shammari, or add us on snapchat to be regularly updated. Being involved in Outreach is a way to develop your character and skills because you are helping others, be part of a bigger community, and develop your academic CV in preparation for college applications.
