ONLINE SCHOOL

Due to the circumstances created by COVID-19, the American School of Marrakesh developed an online learning program with a creative schedule to support students and parents during the current State of Health Emergency declared by the Moroccan Government.  This home-based program was designed to ensure that students continue to learn and progress towards grade-level benchmarks.

Thanks to a G Suite Education License that the School possesses, all students are able to participate actively in the online learning program via Google Classroom and Google Meet.  Through these digital learning platforms, students receive direct instruction, ask questions, obtain timely feedback and collaborate with their peers. Asynchronous sessions on Google Classroom allow teachers to continue to cover substantial curricula to help students progress steadily towards end-of-year learning objectives.  Moreover, students are encouraged to contact their teachers and/or assistant teachers during office hours for questions or for general support.

We believe that the well-being of ASM students is a key precursor of their ultimate academic success.  To this end, we have mobilized our Learning Support Department and Student Counseling Office to support students during this time through daily contact via phone, email, and web-based conferencing. In addition, we have developed meaningful character-building experiences delivered through online Student Council meetings as well as other offline home-based activities.

All members of our community have shown a great deal of resilience and determination to adapt to online learning, so that our students can continue to learn and grow.  We are very grateful to our team of professionals who have actively participated in creating this online learning program that we have today!
