IBDP Mission:
The International Baccalaureate® aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
Learner profile
The IB learner profile is the IB mission statement translated into a set of learning outcomes for the 21st century.
Types of Students at the Diploma Programme Level:
A full diploma student will attempt the full diploma programme by taking one subject from each group, three at the standard level and the remaining three at the higher level in addition to the core (CAS, EE & TOK). The student will sit in for and pass the external IB examinations to earn his/her Diploma.
A course certificate student will not attempt the full diploma programme but will take one or more course certificates. The student will sit in for and pass the external IB examinations to earn his/her course certificate(s) of choice.
A non-examination student will not attempt the full programme nor course certificates. The student will not sit in for IB examinations. The student will earn an ASM American High School Diploma if s/he earned the required credits from ASM. The student will take ASM exams.

What the DP offers students
Through the DP, schools are able to develop students who:

- have excellent breadth and depth of knowledge
- flourish physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically
- study at least two languages
- excel in traditional academic subjects
- explore the nature of knowledge through the programme’s unique theory of knowledge course.
