Food brings people together…PTO introduced its World on your Plate MasterChef series with amateur chef and self-proclaimed foodie Mackenzie Young who shared her grandma’s recipe of Sukiyaki with parents, teachers and staff. She was aided by student sous-chefs Jad, Hamza, Rayane and Ismael. Everyone really enjoyed Mackenzie’s demonstration and the delicious Sukiyaki and food did indeed bring out community together.

November’s Career Connections features Jonathan Stasiak (Senior Engineer, Cloudflare) & Andreas Pirchner (Professor of Creative Programming, Art University of Linz and instructor of Graphic Design, Ortweinschuler in Graz). They shared their expertise via an “AMA” (Ask Me Anything) session with ASM students. It was a great opportunity to learn about career possibilities and pathways related to computer science and the arts. Thank you to Jonathan and Andreas for sharing your stories with ASM students!

The American School of Marrakesh is hosting its fourth Virtual Open House Day. We have
an exciting program for prospective parents and students interested in learning more about
the American School of Marrakesh. You will tour our campus virtually, meet our teachers
and learn more about our programs. Even better, Open House attendees will be exempt
from the Application Fee (1000 DH).

Congratulations to all the students recognized for their outstanding behavior and for being role models. ASM–Where we live our values!

As events and commitments unfolded in Glasgow for COP26 the PTO ran a plastic bottle re-cycling drive to collect plastic bottles which are ‘literarily littered’ everywhere spoiling our beautiful city of Marrakech. The children rallied together to bring bottles in from home, the countryside and also picked up waste bottles on campus! The winners were LS INTRO, KG2, 7A and 12A for collecting the most number of bottles. They were treated to a well-deserved Pizza Party!

On the Anniversary of the Green March the ASM PTO organized a guided tour of the Medina. Parents, teachers, children, and administrators gathered, explored, discovered, shopped, and most importantly, came together as a community to enjoy the rich artistic traditions and crafts of Morocco . It was a truly a day to celebrate all things Moroccan and a day enjoyed by all!

A group project where the students use https://education.lego.com/en-us/, an international Robotics website, to collaborate and explore Robotics more closely in a creative and innovative environment.

Today, the Grade 11 IBDP students created ‘living statues’ to represent their understanding of the aims of Theory of Knowledge (TOK). When peer assessing, they noticed critical thinking, communication, creativity, and collaboration – and they demonstrated many of these in the process of devising their statues!
